Before Dark...

I've been collecting all sorts of weird stuff for years.
There's a lot more Halloween stuff available than there used to be, especially lights. I've had to do a lot of bulb-swapping and even painting to get the lights I want over the years.
I have two sound systems. I went through a lot of Halloween tapes and CD's but ending up sticking with the first two I ever bought. Some guy says "happy halloween" about once a minute while a bunch of cheesy music plays along with corny sound effects--that's blaring on the speaker out in the tree. The other one is very atmospheric--heart beating, breathing, noises, etc. That's playing up on the porch.
Most people just stand back and look. You have to drag them onto the porch, then they go "wow". Some of the kids are scared, of course, but once they get over that...
Dr. RF has a large Tesla coil that we usually set up in the yard. We had to skip that this year--maybe next time.
I have a lot more stuff that I didn't have time to set up. If I owned my own place this would be a MAJOR production every year.
Our motto: "no costume, no candy". But you can look all you want.
